Derelict takes place aboard a large Russian Submarine, which has been sunk and decommissioned on the floor of the Atlantic Ocean. It is perilously perched on the edge of a deep ocean abyss, and could go over the side at any moment. Structural damage to the outer hull of the ship has resulted in some flooded hallways and rooms, as well as the occasional quakes as the submarine settles into new positions from the current.
